Suitably Calm

Theres nothing to worry about
nothing to fear,
a clean slate, no tears
I wont let the worries creep into my space
I wont let the anxiety show on my face
I hold on to clear thoughts
banishing the grey
And try all my might to keep it that way
Theres something at the back of my head
A distant worry, a feeling of dread
I am trying to control it
Trying to keep it at bay
Why wont the worries just go away
From a morning of freshness
till the end of the day
I try in vain to keep it that way,
But as I lie here in the evening,
thoughts in my head
Tossing and turning in my comfy bed
I wait for the sleep to take it away
so that tomorrow is just a new start, a new day
So although I may appear
relaxed and all charm
please remember I am trying to stay suitably calm
nothing to fear,
a clean slate, no tears
I wont let the worries creep into my space
I wont let the anxiety show on my face
I hold on to clear thoughts
banishing the grey
And try all my might to keep it that way
Theres something at the back of my head
A distant worry, a feeling of dread
I am trying to control it
Trying to keep it at bay
Why wont the worries just go away
From a morning of freshness
till the end of the day
I try in vain to keep it that way,
But as I lie here in the evening,
thoughts in my head
Tossing and turning in my comfy bed
I wait for the sleep to take it away
so that tomorrow is just a new start, a new day
So although I may appear
relaxed and all charm
please remember I am trying to stay suitably calm
