Now I pass the torch
Its funny how the things I used to do
No longer hold me gripped
Like shopping for the latest clothes
Or fashionable places to be seen
I seem to have lost interest now
On dressing up and going out
and seem contented in my house
On the sofa with a cat in my lap.
Its not that I am growing old
or interested in this life
Its more that now I have reached a time
for the relaxed things without the strife.
I look at my two daughters
as they gaze around the shops
and glancing at the different skirts
and matching bright coloured tops
And as I stand there like a lost bod
I smile occasionally and silently nod
But gaze contented at the smiles on their face
And wouldnt change this fall from grace
Let them play amongst the clothes racks
catching themselves in the mirrors
Listening to their latest tracks
and chatting about designer frocks.
For now my sweets I will not scorch
and proudly hand over the shopping torch
No longer hold me gripped
Like shopping for the latest clothes
Or fashionable places to be seen
I seem to have lost interest now
On dressing up and going out
and seem contented in my house
On the sofa with a cat in my lap.
Its not that I am growing old
or interested in this life
Its more that now I have reached a time
for the relaxed things without the strife.
