I didnt plan on being here

This wasnt the way it was supposed to be

There wasnt plans at the beginning

for just three children and me

I didnt wish for independance

I didnt want to be self sufficient

I didnt want to be brave

or omniscient

I wanted to be one

but one as a unit

not alone, not here, not this way

I look ahead and see only one set of footsteps

Leading away to a horizon
