Reluctant Riser

Don't make me get up
I refuse to move
I am cosy in here,
in my duvet cocoon

The sun may be rising
the day may begin
but I really want to opt out
and have a lie in

You can call me and prod me
yell 'Get out of Bed'
but my body says no thanks
it wants to stay here instead

Its not that I am lazy
or petulant or slow
but sometimes, just sometimes
my body says no.

It must be one of those mornings today as I really did not want to move and came up with the the Reluctant Riser. Although I did not get my lay in I managed to vent my lethargy on this poem instead. Have a good day and for those being held capture by their beds - have a good lie in.
